This grammar point can be used when you somehow or mistakenly fail to do something you initially planned to or were supposed to do, and end up doing something else.

While buying shampoo I ended up (accidently) buying conditioner.

가: 녹차를 시킨다는 것이 커피를 시켰네요. 다시 주문할게요.

New books! I ordered them over gmarket. Wasnt exactly cheap but it was about the same price as buying them in Korea and sending them over. Interpark on gmarket has a pretty decent selection and the books took less than a week to arrive 😊
