Hello!! I’m having a summer job in graphic design starting next week and (i dont know if you take requests like these but if its okay) i would love to know a list of words about art and design in korean such as ‘design’ ‘paintbrush’ ‘paint’ ‘digital’ etc ^^ thank you so much in advance!! <3

Hi! I’m sorry I don’t really have time to do this so I don’t take requests, and also because this blog is just for my personal notes not for teaching others. You’ll be able to find these words easily in a Korean dictionary like Naver or Daum though and there are also often already list vocabularly for certain topics, for example I googled “korean vocab art” and found this link, hopefully some of these words will get you started! 🙂

부둥켜안다 = to hug, embrace
무너지다 = to collapse, fall apart
밤새우다 = stay up all night
뒤척이다 = toss and turn  
집다 = to pick up
세다 = to count 
해내다 = achieve, succeed at 

마음이 졸이다 = anxious, nervous (졸이다 = boil down)

헛걸음 = visit in vain, waste a trip

Pronunciation of homonyms

Homonyms: Words that are pronounced and often spelt the same but have different meanings.

In Korean homonyms of course share the same pronunciation, but there are often differences in the length of the vowel sounds. You can check the differences by using the Korean-Korean dictionary. Longer vowel sounds will be marked with a [:] and you can also listen to the recordings. Most Koreans don’t know about these differences and the important ones you are likely to pick up naturally like they do so don’t worry about this.  

눈 [눈ː] (snow) has a longer 우 sound than 눈 (eye)
말 [말ː] (words) had a longer 아 sound than 말 (end of; horse)
수학 [수ː학] (maths) has a longer 우 sound that 수학 (study)
