Hanok villages are nice, but if you’re actually interested in seeing traditional buildings and lifestyles you’ve gotta go to the Korean Folk Village (민속촌) in Yongin(용인). As a tourist, there’s not really that much to do in Suwon, but this place is close by and definitely worth a visit.

Jinhae was so good that I was desperate to go to another cherry blossom festival. So this time I went with my boyfriend to Yongin Everland cherry blossom festival(용인에버벚꽃축제), which is a lot closer to where we live. We weren’t going to go at first because we thought there would be too many people since it’s next to Everland, but when we woke up on Saturday morning the weather was fantastic, and since my boyfriend had never been to a cherry blossom festival before we decided to go. I’m glad we did.

I think pretty much anyone who lives somewhere that doesn’t have cherry blossoms dreams of seeing them someday. I sure did, and I like all flowers, so I definitely couldn’t miss out on the cherry blossom festivals now that I’m in Korea. Recently I’ve been wanting to travel a lot but haven’t had either the time or the money, so I didn’t think I’d be able to go anywhere. But then, whilst I told her this over coffee, my friend suggested we go on a day trip by tourbus.

If you’re struggling with 쓰기, I recommend this book! It teaches not just all the basic stuff you need to know but also how to express things in formal writing. Gives examples of the most common mistakes in writing. It has a lot exercises. LIKE A LOT.
A lot to make sure it sticks in your mind and never forget it ever again. Provides answers at the back.Future book

Can you guys check out my Korean IG: @SallysKoreanNotes. I’ll be posting daily questions so that you can all practice often. ^-^
Trying to improve my handwriting, mostly so i can read other people’s handwriting more easily. I never learnt stroke order (i really recommend doing that) and never wrote much by hand. But as you can see in the first picture my english handwriting is also like a child’s, so thats probably the reason my korean is too. 1) my handwriting 2) my boyfriend’s handwriting 3) my english. The rest is me practicing writing quickly and trying to copy my boyfriend’s writing but it looks awful. Then i got bored and just tried to write big. ㅁ, ㄹ and ㄷ/ ㅌ are the characters i struggle with most. I still cannot figure out to make the correct stroke order for ㄹ naturally. Someone teach me how to read handwriting (like my boyfriend’s here, i would never know that says 운명) without having to improve my own?

(What do you enjoy most about learning Korean?)
Maybe because I’m weird, but I enjoy learning grammar the most. That moment where you start to understand something you didn’t before is so satisfying. Of course I also enjoy meeting all the friends I’ve met whilst learning Korean. It feels so good when we’re able to communicate well and when I can express myself well whilst speaking Korean.
(How do you study Korean?)
I learnt grammar through TTMIK and other websites and practiced whilst doing language exchange with Korean friends. At present I am attending Sogang KLEC for the summer semester. Going to a language school is good, but I think studying alone is more fun since I can learn what I want and studying in the ways that I like. Although, studying whilst living in Korean really is so much better.
Finally using Lang-8 again and I really do love this community. Also there’s a lot of need for Korean learners so I’m recommending it once again.
Lang-8: Practice writing and receive corrections from native speakers, give corrections to learners of your native language, ask questions and get feedback, make friends and meet language exchange partners.
