영국의 이런 크리스마스 전통을 많이 좋아해서 올해 한국에서 보낼 것은 조금 아쉬운데 한국에서도 크리스마스 기념할려고 해요. 다이소 가서 재료를 사고 이렇게 벽에다가 “트리” 만들었어요. 이번 크리스마스는 우리 가족이랑 보낼 수 없지만 제 한국 가족한테 크리스마스 전통을 소개해줄 수 있고 같이 보내서 좋을 것 같아요. 날씨가 추워도 마음은 따뜻하게 시간 같이 보낼 겁니다.
I love all these Christmas traditions, so it feels a little weird to be in Korea this year, but I intend on celebrating Christmas here as well. I bought lights and tinsel at Daiso to make this tree shape against the wall in my apartment. I won’t be with my family this year, but I look forward to spending Christmas with my Korean friends this year and introducing them to these traditions.
제가 일년 중에 가장 좋아하는 날은 크리스마스예요. 하루만 기념하는 것만 아니고 보통 2달동안 기념할 수 있어서 그래요. 크리스마스 음식을 해 먹고, 집 꾸미고, 축제나 크리스마스 시장에 갈 수 있어서 추운 겨울에 따뜻한 시간을 많이 보내는 게 좋아요. 작년 크리스마스는 영국에서 우리 가족이랑 남자친구와 함께 보냈고 올해는 한국에서 제 한국 가족이라고 할 수 있는 주변 사람들이랑 12월을 보낼 거예요.
Christmas is my favourite time of year. Not just Christmas day, I usually celebrate for about two months prior. Christmas food, decorations, events and Christmas markets; I like to spend time doing nice things when the weather is cold. Last year I spent Christmas in the UK with my boyfriend and family, and this year I am spending December in Korea with the people around me here, my “Korean family”.
겨울에는 데번에 안개가 자주 껴요. 그 안개 때문에 다트무어에는 지역의 전설이 많은 것 같아요. ‘픽시’, The Hound of the Baskervilles라는 책으로 유명해진 ‘검은 개’, 안개가 낀 밤에 운전하면 사고를 일으키는 귀신인 ‘털 많은 손’ (Hairy Hands), 악마가 가서 맥주 먹던 펍… 같은 무서운 전설이 많아요.
언덕이 많은 제 고향의 지형과 달리 백마 언덕 근처 지형은 아주 평평해서 멀리 조망하기 좋았어요. 조각품와 가까이 서 있으면 전체의 완성된 말 그림이 보이지 않지만 테리 프래쳇의 책에서 나오는 말이 딱 맞더라고요. “말 같아 보이지 않은데 말 자체다.”
The land surrounding White Horse Hill is completely flat, which is very different to the hilly terrain where we’re from but it was nice to be able to see for miles. You can’t actually see the horse fully when you’re standing there, but the chalk lines are clear beneath you. As one of the characters in the Terry Pratchett book says about the carving:“Tain’t what a horse looks like, but it’s what a horse be.”

여러분 오버워치해봤나요? 저는 매일 친구들과 함께 오버워치하고 음성채팅으로 얘기해요. 일 때문에 윤규 오빠는 가끔 게임하러 못와서 너무 아쉬워요 ㅠ. ㅠ 일요일만에 쉴수있고요 ㅠ 완전 열심히하니까 더 쉬었으면 좋겠어요…암튼 윤규 게임잘한다~! 대부분 영웅 잘하는데 자리야하고 한조 프로게이머같이 할수있어요 ^^ 몇주 전에 오빠는 몇한국사람들이랑 팀을 만들고서 같이 게임하기 시작했어용~ 진짜 멋있당!!
흠…저도 자리야 자주 하니까 황금무기 샀어요!! 이제 경쟁전 많이 해야죠…다른 영웅의 황금무기 사고싶으니까요~~ 보통 탱커나 힐러하는걸 좋아해요 ^^ 딜러도 할수있는데 별로 좋지않은거같아요.. 이건 제가 자주 하는 영웅들 사진이에요 ~>

제가 제일 좋아하는 곳은? 당연히 꽃이 많은 곳이죠. 제 친구도 이걸 알고 있어서 제가 방문하러 갔을 때 식물원에 데려 줬어요.
What are my favourite places? Obviously places will lots of plants and flowers. My friend knows this, so when I went to visit her she took me to a botanical garden.

The Secret Garden, place in the middle of the city, is a place to walk, learn about history, and rest. Enter through the large gate hidden within Changdeokgung and walk around as the tour guide introduces you to various styles of traditional building, the forests and lakes, and learn about the history of the garden.
한국의 좋은 점 중에 하나는 대도시에도 나무, 공원, 산 등이 많다는 거예요. 사람과 자동차, 인공적인 빛, 소리가 많은 서울에서도 평화로운 자연을 만날 수 있는 곳이 많아요. 그 중에 창덕궁 비원(Changdeokgung Secret Garden)이 아주 좋아요.
One of the great things about living in Korea is that even in big cities there are so many trees, parks, mountains, and other green spaces. Even in Seoul, with all the people, traffic, lights, and noise, there are many places to enjoy the peace of nature. Changdeokgung rear garden, or ‘Secret Garden’, is a lovely one of those places.
