보다: to look
이거 보세요 Look at this.

바라보다: to gaze, to look (for longer)
그는 산을 바라보고 있었어요. He was looking at the mountain. 

쳐다보다: to stare
왜 그렇게 쳐다봐요? Why are you staring at me like that? 

노려보다: to stare, to glare
그는 화가 너서 처를 노려봤어요. He stared at me out of anger. 

째려보다: to stare angrily
째려 보니까 무서워요. Since you are staring at me like that, I’m scared. 

“look” + direction or method
돌아보다: to look around, to look back
아직 돌아보지 마세요. Don’t look back yet. 

내다보다: to look
 out 창벆을 내다보세요. Look out the window. 

내려다보다: to look down
내려다보면 무서워요. Looking down is scary. 

올려다보다: to look up
1층에서 3층을 올려다 봤어요. I look up at the 3rd floor from the 1st floor. 

들여다보다: to look inside
냉장고 안을 들여다 봤어요. I looked inside the refrigerator. 

훔쳐보다: to steal a look
제 답 훔쳐보지 마세요. Don’t steal a look at my answers.

시정하다: to watch (TV, movie)
하루에 TV를 몇 시간 시청하세요? How many hours a day do you watch TV? 

감상하다: to watch (show/artwork) [also listen to a musical performance, to appreciate/enjoy an artistic work]
미술관에서 작품 을 감상하고 있어요. I’m looking at artwork at the art gallery. 

구경하다: to look around; to watch something happen
구경하러 왔어요. I am here to look around. 

살펴보다: to check out, to look over
이상한 거 없는지 살펴보세요. Please check to see if there is anything strange. 

훑어보다: to look through, to study [look closely]
대충 훑어봤는데, 괜찮아요. I looked through roughly, and it’s okay. 

둘러보다: to look around [similar to 구경하다]
그냥 둘러보는 중이에요. I’m just looking around.
