그 분은 오페라를 좋아한다지요? = Don’t they say that he likes opera?
너는 벌써 표를 샀다지? = Didn’t I hear you bought the ticket already?
그 분이 대통령에 당선됐다지? = Didn’t I hear that he was elected president?
내일이 독립 기념일이라지요? = Don’t they say it’s Independence Day tomorrow?
그 책이 인기였다지요? = Didn’t I hear that the book was popular?

When asking yourself about what you should do, who you should meet, when you should go, where you should go, or how you should do something, you will commonly see the following forms:
~게(요)? = Riddling or rhetorical question, you wanna ____ or something?, are you intending to?, Guess what (asking about sb’s action or intention)
그 사내아이 이름 뭘로 짓게? = What will you name him?
누구 위해 들었게요 그럼? = Who [else] would I have taken out the insurance for, then?
저녁에 이 마을서 장사지내게? = Are you fixin’ to hold a funeral in the village tonight? (i.e., are you trying to kill us?)
내가 이번 주말에 뭘 했게? = Guess what I did this weekend.
내가 지금 뭐하고 있게? = guess what i am doing now?
그가 집에 도착했을 때 그 사람 부인이 뭐라고 했게요? = What’d his wife say when he got home, do you know? (guess what!)
야, 야, 내가 주말에 뭐했게? 나 남자친구랑 서울타워에서 저녁먹었다! =
Hey, hey, do you know what I did at the weekend? I went to the Seoul Tower and had dinner with my boyfriend!
~는가 = Question form for processive verbs, 있다 & 없다, past and future bases (-었는가, -겠는가). (Descriptive verbs ~(으)ㄴ가) often used for musings to oneself: I wonder whether…; Could it be that…?; is it the case that…?
누군가 어둠 속에서 수영을 하는가 = Was somebody perhaps swimming in the dark?
무슨 일이 일어날 수 있겠는가 = What could possibly go wrong?
어떻게 모를 수 있겠는가 = How could you not know?
세상에 자기 아내와 자식 귀하지 않은 놈 있겠는가 = What jerk is there on earth who doesn’t care for his wife and kids?
~(이)던가 = Asking questions to yourself (only yes/no answers!)
(~더~ = recalling some fact from the past that has been experienced
~(으)ㄴ가 = specific questions. Sometimes used to ask questions to other people but very informal and usually use just
~(으)ㄴ가 )
내가 이 책을 읽었던가? = Did I read this book?
오빠가 나한테 뭐라고 했던가? = Did my brother say something to me? (yes or no answers, so 뭐 is ‘something’ not ‘what’)
우리가 언제 만났던가? = Have we met at some time (not ‘when’) before?
우리가 어제 만났던가? = Did we meet yesterday?
어제 설거지를 했던가? = Did I do the dishes yesterday?
선생님이 캐나다 사람이던가? = Is our teacher Canadian?
그 차가 내 친구 차던가? = Is that car my friend’s car?
