집다, 집어 올리다 = Pick up

(something) 

연필을 집다 = pick up a pencil
젓가락으로 집다 = pick up sth with chopsticks
손으로 음식을 집어 먹다 = eat sth with one’s fingers

들다, 들고 있다 = Hold, carry

제가 가방을 들어 드릴게요 = Let me hold your bag.
그녀는 우산을 들고 있었다 = She was holding an umbrella.
이 상자 좀 들어 주시겠어요? = Do you mind carrying this box for me?

들다, 들어 올리다 = Pick/lift up (somebody/something)

이 상자는 무거워서 혼자 들 수가 없다 = This box is too heavy to lift alone
그녀가 울고 있는 그 아이에게로 가더니 그 애를 들어 올렸다. = She went over to the crying child and picked her up.

데리다, 데려 가다/오다 = Take (somebody)

나는 여동생들을 데리고 연극 관람을 갔다 = I took my younger sisters to see a play.
이 주소로 데려다 주세요 = Please take me to this address.
7시에 데리러 갈게요 = I’ll come for you at seven.

태우다 = Take, give a ride/lift (in a car etc.) (태우러 가다/오다 = Pick up)

나는 그녀를 집까지 태워 주었다 = I took/drove her home.
그 버스는 공항 밖에서 승객을 태운다. =The bus picks up passengers outside the airport.
다섯 시에 널 태우러 갈게/올게. = I’ll pick you up at five.

가지고 가다, 가져 가다  = Take (something somewhere/to somebody)

내가 버스에서 내리면서 가방을 가지고 내리는 것을 잊어 버렸다. = I forgot to take my bag with me when I got off the bus.
주인집 가족에게 줄 선물을 가지고 갈까? = Shall I take a gift to my host family?

가지고 다니다 = Carry, have around, bring along

나는 절대 돈을 많이 가지고 다니지 않는다. = I never carry much money on me.

가져 가다 = Take (from somebody)

누군가가 내 스카프를 가져갔어. = Someone has taken my scarf.
도둑들이 무슨 귀중한 것을 가져갔습니까? = Did the burglars take anything valuable?
