Hi^^ I’ve used the Hellotalk app and Sharedtalk – although that has now changed to SharedLingo which I haven’t tried yet. I’ve never used any actual Korean ones. I think there are open chat groups on kakaotalk which you could try and find, I’m sure there are lang exchange groups or groups for something you’re interested in.

Haha feel free :). 영국에서 왔어요. 잉글랜드 서남부에 살아서 제가 시골 사람인 것 같아요 ㅋㅋ. 양배추 님은요?
17 please~ 😊
17. 어떤 직업을 갖고 싶어요? (What kind of job do you want to have?)
아이들을 좋아하는데 오랬동안 교사나 nanny가 되고 싶었어요. 심리학에도 관심이 있고 제 전공이 심리학이라서 제 꿈은 심리학 교수가 되는 거옜어요. 그런데 한국어 배우고 친구한테 영어 공부를 도와 주면서 언어의 매력에 빠졌으니까 지금은 영어 교사가 되고 싶어요.
I like kids so for a long time I wanted to become a teacher or nanny. I’m also into psychology and that’s my major so my dream was to become and psych professor. However whilst learning Korean and helping my friends study English I fell in love with languages and I now want to be an English teacher. 🙂
13 :-)
13. 한국어 배우면서 어떤 점이 가장 즐거워요? (What do you enjoy most about learning Korean?)
저는 이상해서 그런지 문법을 배우는 게 가장 좋아요. 전에 이해 못 했던 것을 이해가 되는 그 순간에 진짜 뿌듯해요. 그리고 당연히 한국어 배우면서 만나는 친구들을 만나는 것도 즐거워요. 친구하고 한국말로 이야기할 때 말이 잘 통하고 자신을 잘 표해할 수 있으면 기분 너무 좋아요.
Maybe because I’m weird, but I enjoy learning grammar the most. That moment where you start to understand something you didn’t before is so satisfying. Of course I also enjoy meeting all the friends I’ve met whilst learning Korean. It feels so good when we’re able to communicate well and when I can express myself well whilst speaking Korean.
I keep on hearing 1 2 3 as “ha, too, set” (I’m still learning Hangul, sorry) in Korean shows and such, but whenever I look up how to say numbers in Korean, that is far off. Why is this? Are there several ways to say numbers?
There are two sets of numbers: Native Korean (하나/hana, 둘/dul, 셋/set) and Sino-Korean (일/il, 이/ee, 삼/sam), and Native Korean numbers change slightly when you put them before a countable noun (한 사람, 두 사람, 세 사람).
Here’s a link to a howtostudykorean lesson. 🙂

Haii.. Im sylvia, do you have recommended room in hongik university area? Low bugdet room per months. Im going to take korea language program. Sorry for asking.. But thankyou for attention 😊
Hi Sylvia 🙂
I’m not sure about the area but you could try the Hongik/Hongdae branch of Core Livingtel (코아리빙텔 홍대점) which is the only one I know. link 1, link 2
(tip: It WILL be smaller than it looks in the pictures. Don’t trust goshiwon website pictures.)
If anyone else knows anywhere please make a suggestion 🙂
Hey I love your blog!!! Can I ask you a question?? I’m confused when some Koreans use the starting forms of the verbs like just 하다 instead of 합니다 or 해요. Could you say when they use that kind of sentences?? Thank yoouu ^^^
Hi, Thank you!!! This is the narrative present tense and here is a link to the TTMIK lesson on it and here are my notes on it. In summary:
Action verb stem -ㄴ/는다
Descriptive verb stem -다
Usage 1: Expressing a reaction to something, surprise, excitement ect. (반말)
2: Narrating present action. (반말)
3. Writing in something like a book or diary. (neutral formality)
Hello! I was wondering, if I wanted to say “I met a innocent looking girl”, should I say it like “저는 보여는 순수한 것은 여자를 만났어요”? (thank you)
“to look _____” = ~아/어 보이다
순수해 보이다 = to look innocent
순수한 여자 = innocent woman
순수해 보이는 여자 = innocent looking woman
I would write 저는
순수해 보이는 여자를 만났어요. I am likely to make mistakes though it’s worth checking with a native speaker or if anyone else has suggestions please feel free to correct me!
Hi! Okay, so my name is Genesis, just like the first chapter of the bible. I wanted to know what the translation of that would be in korean, so i found oui it is “창세기” but the thing is, is it correct for a person to be named like that? Thanks💕.
I asked my friend and he said that 창세기 doesn’t work as a name. If you translate the meaning of Genesis as “beginning” or “origin” you could use 기원, he said that doesn’t sound too strange, it’s not technically a name though. Most people just convert their names into hangul though like 제네시스, and you could tell people 기원 and 창세기 to explain the meaning.
